Cortisol Connection: Get Your Sleep Hormone Profile Test

Not Sleeping Well?

It is now possible to analyses the hormones that control your sleep. Melatonin is a hormone that is critical to controlling your circadian body rhythms including your sleep/wake cycle. Generally, melatonin decreases with age but more importantly it is affected by circulating cortisol levels. Cortisol is a major stress hormone and high levels will affect your ability to enjoy a restful night’s sleep. 5mls of saliva is collected at midnight and then sent to a registered pathology lab for an assessment of your melatonin and cortisol levels. From there an individual treatment plan can be commenced.

Natural Hormone Balance

Hormones are potent chemical messengers that circulate throughout your body, serving as messengers to organise how your body functions. Hormones are produced by endocrine organs such as the ovaries, testes, pituitary and adrenal glands, which are governed by higher centres found within the brain. As hormones travel through your blood stream they provide a communication network linking your central control centre to the trillion of cells found within your body. The endocrine glands produce different quantities of hormones depending on your individual needs and your stage of life. An imbalance in your hormone levels greatly impact on your level of health. A simple, non-invasive Saliva Hormone Test is a very accurate way to assess your hormone levels. All testing is done through a registered Australian pathology laboratory. Once an assessment is completed an individual treatment plan can be established.

Signs that you may have a hormone imbalance include:

  • Symptoms of menopause: hot flushes, mood swings & vaginal dryness
